Valentine's Day

If you missed my Valentine's Day segment on the "Daily Buzz" Morning Tv show this past Tuesday...here are some tips that you missed out on! Enjoy!

Now more than ever, couples are looking for ways to spend less and get more, especially at Valentine’s Day – a time when we typically over-spend and even over-indulge. I’ve come up with a few wallet-(and waist!) friendly tips for having a romantic, memorable Valentine’s Day with your one and only.

First of all, don’t stress! Some of the best gifts are truly spontaneous and cost next to nothing. It’s the time that you spend together, not the money that creates that lasting connection.

One fun and easy thing to do is to stay home… cook a romantic dinner …and share a bottle of your favorite wine. We women love a man who can cook and ladies… people always say the way to man’s heart… is through his stomach! It’s less expensive to cook at home rather than spend a fortune at an expensive restaurant…Cook something special you both love and make the most of your time alone. Pre-purchase your favorite music and light some scented candles to help set the mood. And don’t forget dessert!

Another fun thing to do is to make a sweet scavenger hunt for your significant other. Now you can do this small scale (think around the house)… or you can really blow it out. Send your sweetheart on a hunt around town to all “your” places – your first date… first kiss…her favorite restaurant… his favorite sports bar, etc, leaving clues as to what they may find at the end, which of course, will be you! The last clue should lead back to your place for a few special things that you can enjoy together…like a music playlist with “your” songs downloaded… a bottle of champagne… and scented candles. (A product that is great to have on hand for a really special eveing is KY Brand His and Hers. The first intimacy enhancing product for men and women!)

And last but not least, another inexpensive gift is a homemade “honey-do” coupon book. Now you can have a lot of fun with this… depending on how long you’ve been together… and guys… depending how much in the dog-house you are!

Include some things you can do together like a picnic in the park, a movie night (movie of their choice) …a romantic night at home wine tasting…or an intimate massage (use K-Y® Brand Touch Massage™ 2-in-1 Warming®, a great product that can be used for massage and lubricant), a week of laundry or carpool duty.

A fun spin is – for every coupon your partner redeems, you get to make a request of your own. Fun huh? It’s the gift that keeps on giving!

Michelle! Unfortunately I couldn't find a contact page so I'm writing via comment. It's nice to see such an informative, personal blog and an incredible resource! I was wondering,
would your blog be willing to cover some great makeup for fashionable moms?

I ask because I work for Marketingworks on behalf of Maybelline and am allowed to distribute free samples
of Maybelline's Lash Stiletto Mascara for your review. (Hey, in this economy we can all use free
mascara, and maybe if you like it you can end up blogging about it or tell
other moms!) Honestly, I think the mascara is beautiful, and I'm always looking for cost effective yet glamourous beauty solutions.
I love that Stiletto is a perfect combination of being natural and powerful (dark -- very sexy, creates incredble length, and it's not clumpy)
Also it's priced really well (between $7-$9).

In any event, very happy I discovered your blog! Hit me back if you would
like a free sample of Maybelline's Stiletto Mascara. Hope to hear from you
and I look forward to keep on reading!

Cheers,
Keaton
